Are the SDGs being used to rank impact or monetise data?

There is a growing cluster of rankings and frameworks focused on engagement themes or which emphasise higher education’s social, cultural and economic impact and value for their communities. More recently rankings have begun to focus on sustainability.

The fourth edition of the THE Impact Rankings was released recently. Ultimately, the real value of THE Impact Rankings is the data it collects. As the era of self-regulation for Big Tech nears an end, similar questions about data ownership, governance and regulation must be asked of rankings, publishing and data analytics conglomerates.

General Consultation for Higher Education in Lebanon

BH Associates was asked by UNESCO to help write a Higher Education Policy and 5-Year Plan for Lebanon.

The Minister for Education and Higher Education, H.E. Dr Abbas Halabi, launched the Policy and Plan on 2 March 2022 in Beirut.

EU Strategy for Universities seeks ‘inclusive excellence’ for European Higher Education

Commission for Tertiary Education and Research for Wales announced

The Welsh Government has announced that the Commission for Tertiary Education and Research (CTER), subject to legislation, will be established as an independent Welsh Government sponsored body by 2023. It will be responsible for overseeing the post-16 sector in Wales which includes further education (FE), higher education (HE), apprenticeships, sixth forms and Welsh Government funded research and innovation in the PCET sector.

The decision to establish CTER was based on a review of the governance, regulation and oversight of post-compulsory education in Wales undertaken by Ellen Hazelkorn in 2015. The report contained two primary recommendations:
